The Enterprise is being repaired and refitted in Earth orbit after their encounter with the Borg. This leaves us right in the middle of character development territory. A scarey prospect at best.

Worf's parents are to visit. Since they are dead, we can assume he means his human parents who raised him from a pup. Shock, horror! They are Russian, and full of the social graces we have come to know and love from that part of the world.

Picard is to visit his home villiage in France. Strangely his nephew speaks with an upperclass English accent, while his Brother is French and wife sounds suspiciously American. They can do accent transplants in the future but the hair still eludes them. Picard's brother Robert is a vigneron.

Bev's has Jack Crusher's stuff brought out of storage on Earth and finds a holo-message that Jack left for Wesley just before he died. Wes views it and moans a poignant "Goodbye Dad!". Barf.

Guinan is a meddling bitch. If anyone arrives in her bar she immediately starts eavesdropping and offering unsolicited advice. Sort of like a religeous groups. Her advice this time is to Worf's parents. "He thinks of you when he thinks of home". Give us a break! Still, Worf's father must be quite important as he has the full specs and diagrams of the Enterprise at home. The flagship of the fleet and the plans are just lying around! Amazing.

Picard mud-wresles his brother and everyone is happly ever after. Oh how touching.

Roll Credits...

What is this? Is Paramount trying for the "most people turned off" award or what? There have been some awful episodes in the past, but nothing to rival the rubbish in this one. They have to get better, don't they?
